Free items as lines of their own in the cart
A magazine, a sample, a catalogue: it costs nothing but still appears in the cart, so the customer knows what is coming. There are two ways to do it.

Mandatory or removable.
With Removable the line gets a cross. If the customer removes the free item, it stays away for the running session, even if they change the quantity afterwards.
Tested like this in the demo shop: magazine removed, quantity of the main product increased, the magazine did not come back.
Announce it beforehand.
A product note announces on the product page that something extra is included. In the demo shop it is green, above the price.

Fixed amount
Gross or net with its own tax rate, negative a discount.
Free of charge
A line for €0.00, as a pseudo product or as a real product.
Shopware product
A product from the catalogue, with stock, image and price.
Quantity
The quantity follows certain products, per piece or per position.
