Why a Shopware product
The catalogue has stock. On ordering, the item becomes a real product line, and the stock goes down as with any other product.
Retailers get the printed catalogue with their first order. It is a real product in the shop, with stock. The plugin adds it free of charge and checks whether the retailer has had it already.
On the left the rule in the Rule Builder, on the right the item's fields that matter. Everything else stays as it is when you create the item.

In the first order the catalogue is in the cart free of charge. In the second one it is not: the plugin finds the earlier order and cuts the quantity to zero.

The catalogue has stock. On ordering, the item becomes a real product line, and the stock goes down as with any other product.
The plugin looks up the customer's previous orders by the product number. If they already had the catalogue, it is no longer added. Cancelled orders do not count.
The customer group belongs to the customer account, and only a logged-in customer has a history. For guests the limit only applies to the current cart.
What to watch out for: A Shopware product counts as goods. If another rule depends on a value threshold, it counts there, with its price. Free of charge, it contributes €0.00.
If product A, B or C is in the cart, the delivery goes to Austria or Switzerland and the customer is a retailer.
For deliveries to certain countries the shop pays part of the shipping costs.
A discount for payment in advance, a fee for cash on delivery: one item per payment method.
A surcharge per bulky product when delivery is by freight.
A real product from the catalogue that retailers get once, with their first order.
Once the goods total reaches €50.00, a catalogue product is added free of charge.
A magazine or a sample that the customer can see and remove.
In Advent, one gift wrap per product in the cart, which the customer can remove.
