Why per piece
Two sofas need two spaces on the lorry. Per position would mean: once per cart line, however many pieces are in it.
Bulky goods surcharge per product for freight delivery
The example from the plugin's help text: a rule checks the freight shipping method, and the item's quantity follows the bulky products in the cart. Two sofas, two surcharges.

What the customer sees.
Only the products of the bulky goods group count: two sofas, twice €15.00. The cushion does not count. If the customer adds a third sofa, it is €45.00.

Why it is set up this way.
Why a product group
A dynamic product group keeps up with your range. When you add a new bulky product to the catalogue, it counts without anyone editing the item. Variants count through their parent product.
Why a product note
The surcharge depends on the shipping method, which the customer only chooses at checkout. The yellow note on the product page tells them beforehand.
What to watch out for: If the rule applies, the item is in the cart at least once, even without a matching product. That is why the product group is also part of the rule here: without a bulky product it does not apply, and there is no surcharge.

Transport insurance
If product A, B or C is in the cart, the delivery goes to Austria or Switzerland and the customer is a retailer.
Shipping subsidy
For deliveries to certain countries the shop pays part of the shipping costs.
Payment method
A discount for payment in advance, a fee for cash on delivery: one item per payment method.
Bulky goods
A surcharge per bulky product when delivery is by freight.
Mandatory product for retailers
A real product from the catalogue that retailers get once, with their first order.

Once the goods total reaches €50.00, a catalogue product is added free of charge.

A magazine or a sample that the customer can see and remove.
Gift wrapping
In Advent, one gift wrap per product in the cart, which the customer can remove.
